Our School Vision

"Succeeding together — fostering a love of learning within a nurturing Christian community, to bring out ‘the best in everyone’."
Rooted in Philippians 4:13—"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"—we aim for every child to achieve excellence in maths. Guided by our Christian values of perseverance, resilience, and curiosity, we want children to develop confidence in reasoning, problem-solving, and enjoying the beauty of mathematics.

Join us in inspiring confident, resilient, and enthusiastic mathematicians—living out our Christian values and celebrating the beauty and power of maths!

Our Intent
To build a strong mathematical foundation from EYFS to Year 6, helping children to:
  • Mirrors: Recognise their own progress and relate maths to their daily lives.
  • Windows: Understand how math is used across different cultures and in the wider world.
  • Doors: Explore new concepts, solve increasingly complex problems, and develop a love for the subject.

Our goal is to develop fluency, conceptual understanding, and the ability to apply maths confidently and creatively.

Implementation
  • Daily Lessons: Begin with a ‘Flashback 4’ to revisit previous learning, with extra focus on mental maths fluency.
  • Step-by-Step Progression: Small, carefully planned steps ensure all children can access each objective.
  • Reasoning & Problem-Solving: Regular activities encourage children to think critically and justify their reasoning.
  • Challenge & Support: Lessons are resourced to provide appropriate challenge for all learners, promoting resilience and growth mindset.

Impact
  • Children can independently apply their maths knowledge to solve problems of increasing complexity.
  • Their reasoning skills grow in confidence and accuracy.
  • Pupils actively participate in discussions, demonstrating understanding and enjoyment of maths.
  • Children develop a love of learning through success, perseverance, and teamwork.
