Church
The school works closely with a variety of organisations to enrich our children’s learning and contribute to the wider community. If you represent a local group and would like to explore working with the school please do contact the school office.
As a Church of England School, strong Christian values are at the heart of our work. Children are taught about the Christian faith and other religions in a sensitive way. We have a daily act of worship and the Rector or one of his team takes a Collective Worship once a month. Families are invited to take part in Christian festivals such as Mothering Sunday and Remembrance Sunday. Children are also invited to go along to 'Sunday at 4' which is organised by our local clergy. We use St Mary's Church to celebrate important times of year e.g. Harvest, Christmas Carol Service and our End of Year Service. These events are very well attended by parents, families and local residents.
Parents who desire to, have the right to withdraw their children from religious education and collective worship by making a request to the Head teacher. Alternative arrangements will then be made.
