Equality

Equality at Marsh Gibbon CE School
At Marsh Gibbon CE School, our Christian values guide everything we do. We are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity and provision for all pupils, staff, parents, and carers, regardless of race, gender, disability, belief, religion, socio-economic background, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Our School Vision and Values
Our vision is to create a caring, inclusive community where everyone is valued and treated with respect. We believe that embracing diversity and promoting equality is fundamental to living out our Christian principles and preparing children to thrive in a diverse society.

Our Spirituality Statement
Our Christian character encourages us to see everyone as equal in the eyes of God. We aim to foster a school environment rooted in love, acceptance, and compassion, where all children and families feel safe, respected, and supported.

Mirrors, Windows, and Doors
  • Mirrors: Our school reflects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our community, helping children see themselves valued and respected. This builds confidence and a positive sense of identity.
  • Windows: We open windows to understanding others’ differences—learning about different cultures, beliefs, and abilities—so children develop empathy, respect, and good relationships.
  • Doors: We open doors to equal opportunities, encouraging all children to participate fully in school life, achieve their goals, and reach their potential—regardless of their starting point.

Our Commitment to Equality
In line with the Equality Act 2010 and other legislation, we eliminate discrimination, harassment, and victimisation. We actively promote positive attitudes towards diversity and work to ensure that everyone has fair access to education, resources, and support.

Equality Objectives 2021-2025:
  • Raise achievement levels for vulnerable learners.
  • Monitor and support attendance for all groups.
  • Increase understanding and appreciation of cultural and religious diversity.
  • Promote parent engagement to support equity.
  • Make our school environment as accessible as possible for everyone.
These objectives are embedded in our School Development Plan, guided by our Christian and British Values and supported by our Accessibility Policy.

Living Our Values
At Marsh Gibbon, we believe that by respecting and celebrating each other’s differences, we create a stronger, more compassionate community—where every individual can flourish, succeed, and feel valued. Our commitment to equality ensures that everyone not only feels included but also has the opportunity to achieve their very best.
