Main Purpose of Role
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Key Stage 2 / Key Stage 1, ensuring all pupils are inspired and challenged through an ambitious, broad and inclusive curriculum.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day teaching of a KS2/KS1 class, including provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), more-able learners, and those in receipt of Pupil Premium funding.
- Foster a positive, creative and supportive learning environment that upholds the school’s Christian ethos and values.
- Maintain high expectations for all pupils, promoting a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and support the progress and well-being of every pupil, adapting teaching to respond to individual strengths and needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting the school’s commitment to teamwork.
- Ensure effective classroom management in line with school policies and promote positive behaviour.
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to support pupil learning and well-being.
- Contribute to school improvement priorities and seek opportunities for leadership development and early promotion.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, following the school’s safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Uphold and model the school’s Christian ethos, values and vision in all aspects of school life.

Person Specification –
Qualifications and Training
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Evidence of relevant professional development
- Successful teaching experience in Key Stage 2 / Key Stage 1
- Experience of supporting SEN, EAL, more-able and Pupil Premium pupils
- Secure knowledge of the KS2 /KS1 curriculum and effective teaching and learning strategies
- Excellent classroom practice, with a creative approach to engaging pupils
- Ability to differentiate and personalise learning to meet pupils’ needs
- Good understanding of safeguarding requirements and responsibilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- High expectations and ambition for all pupils
- Commitment to promoting a growth mindset and positive learning culture
- Creative, enthusiastic and proactive approach
- Dedicated to upholding the school’s Christian ethos and values
- Positive attitude, resilience and a willingness to embrace change
