ECO SCHOOLS AWARD
Eco-Schools at Marsh Gibbon CE School
At Marsh Gibbon CE School, we believe that everyone has a responsibility to protect and nurture our planet. Our school is committed to creating a healthy, sustainable world where we all live, learn, and grow together. To support this, we have signed up for the Eco-Schools Award, a global initiative that empowers our pupils to understand environmental issues and take action.
Our School Vision and Values
Our vision is to foster a caring, inclusive community rooted in Christian values of respect, responsibility, and compassion. We believe that caring for the environment is integral to living out these values and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Our Spirituality Statement
Our Christian character encourages us to appreciate God’s creation and to act as good stewards of the Earth. We aim to inspire children to reflect on their impact on the environment and to make choices that protect and preserve our world.
Mirrors, Windows, and Doors
Why Eco-Schools MattersThe challenges facing our planet are complex, but by breaking them into manageable themes like waste, biodiversity, water, and energy, children learn how they can contribute to solutions. Eco-Schools provides practical ways for pupils to develop environmental skills, adopt sustainable habits, and become active citizens who care deeply about our world.
Our CommitmentAt Marsh Gibbon, we are dedicated to embedding sustainability into every part of school life. Through our Eco-Schools journey, children will learn, reflect, and act to protect our environment—living out our Christian values and making a positive impact both locally and globally.

Mirrors, Windows, and Doors
- Mirrors: Our school reflects our commitment to caring for the environment, helping children see their own role in protecting the planet and understanding their personal responsibility.
- Windows: We open windows to the wider world—learning about climate change, biodiversity loss, plastic pollution, and other global issues—so children gain awareness and empathy for people and creatures worldwide.
- Doors: We open doors to action—encouraging pupils to make positive changes in school and at home, such as reducing waste, conserving energy, and caring for local habitats—empowering them to make a real difference.

ECO SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our Eco School Council is made up of children from all classes from EYFS to Y6.
The children have chosen the topics that we, as a school, will focus on and come up with ideas for how we will achieve this.
