COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
Collective Worship at Marsh Gibbon CE School
At Marsh Gibbon, our school’s vision is "Succeeding Together – fostering a love of learning within a nurturing Christian community to bring out the best in everyone." This vision underpins all aspects of school life, especially during our collective worship sessions. Worship is a sacred and special time where we come together as a school family to reflect, celebrate, and deepen our faith—an essential part of nurturing the whole child spiritually, morally, and socially.
Our collective worship is shaped by our Christian principles and our commitment to embody our school values of love, respect, friendship, honesty, compassion, and forgiveness. It provides a space for children to grow in faith, understanding, and community, supporting our purpose: to succeed together in every aspect of life.

- Windows: Worship opens windows to understanding others’ beliefs, cultures, and perspectives. It fosters empathy, respect, and compassion—values rooted in our Christian faith—helping children see the world through God's eyes and appreciate His diverse creation.
- Mirrors: Worship reflects each child's unique spiritual journey. It helps children see themselves as loved, valued, and created in God's image. Through prayer, stories, and reflection, children recognise their worth and develop a sense of belonging—mirroring the love and acceptance of Christ in their lives.·
- Doors: Worship acts as a door to deeper spiritual understanding and personal reflection. It invites children to explore their own beliefs, develop moral awareness, and grow in faith. These doors open pathways to kindness, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to living out Christian values.

Schedule of Collective Worship Sessions
Our structured schedule ensures that the entire school community comes together regularly for reflection, celebration, and spiritual growth:
- Daily Whole School Assembly: Led by a member of the Senior Leadership Team or a member of staff, this assembly includes prayer, reflection, and sharing positive achievements. It often incorporates the mirrors, windows, and doors reflection questions to deepen children’s understanding of their feelings and faith.
- Worship Leaders: Our Worship Leaders are pupils who are involved in planning and delivering parts of collective worship. They help lead prayers, read Bible stories, and share reflections, fostering leadership and spiritual growth among pupils.
- Friday Celebration Assembly: Led by a senior staff member, this assembly celebrates children who demonstrate our school values. Certificates are awarded, and achievements—both academic and personal—are recognized, reinforcing our Christian belief in celebrating God’s gifts.
- Themed Worships Throughout the Year: Different staff members and visitors lead worship based on Christian festivals, community events, or specific themes. These sessions include reflection time using mirrors, windows, and doors to help children connect faith to their personal lives.
